I don't need an excuse to eat frozen yoghurt, if truth be told, I prefer it to most ice-creams... apart from Gelati in Italy, of course. It also helps to know it's fat free so I can therefore eat twice as much but I confess I'm a bit if a purist when it comes to frozen yoghurt, plain suits me perfectly: both sweet and sour, creamy and refreshing without being sickly, so I rarely eat any other.
I was recently asked to try Yoo Moo at their rather funky space on the 4th floor of Harrods where they offer 4 flavours which can be mixed and matched: natural, strawberry, Belgian chocolate and Madagascan vanilla, as well as a vast array of toppings, from fruits and nuts to sweets and biscuits.
Natural was going to have to be tried, but I did venture out of my comfort zone and add coconut and raspberries to it whilst, from one extreme to another, the second option was chocolate and vanilla with Oreos. Although we opted for "regular" sizes, they were pretty huge, you could easily share one portion between two people. The natural was divine with the raspberries, perfect texture and temperature, but I could have foregone the coconut. Surprisingly, it was the vanilla I found more overly sweet than the chocolate, which had an almost bitterness to it. I would definitely go for the chocolate, plain, if I fancied a dessert, otherwise it's natural all the way.
It's very good, though at £5.50 for a portion without a topping, it's a bit pricey, especially when you compare it to Snog or Frae. http://www.yoomoo.com/
